Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a fully automated MARLUXIA unit! In order to ensure that you receive the full use and benefits of this unit, we require you to read the instructions below thoroughly and carefully.

Basic Information:

Name: Marluxia. Will also respond to Flower Boy and Marly. Do not refer to him with some sort of ridiculous fangirl nickname (e.g. MarlyMarlyMarly, Pinkie, Girl), for he will most likely become angry. If you continue to do so you will be labeled as an Obsessed Fangirl, and we will have to come and remove him. No refunds.

Sex: Male
Date of Manufacture: Unverified
Place of Manufacture: Radiant Garden, Ansem's Study Division
Race/Species: Humanoid Nobody
Height: Approximately 6'9"
Weight: Medium

Your MARLUXIA unit comes with the following accessories:
3 pairs standard Organization Uniforms
Flamingo Pink Scythe
Glittery Brush
Watering Can

Be sure to have a nearby plot of land (preferably at least three by three feet) before you activate him.  Once your MARLUXIA unit has been removed from his box he will initially recognize you as his owner and will default to Conceited mode. This mode will stay in place until the unit gets to know you better, upon which he will enter Overthrow mode.

Programming:

Your MARLUXIA unit is programmed to be able to do any of the following:

MANAGEMENT: MARLUXIA units are well known to be cunning plotters, and often come up with decently-thought-out plans to achieve any end.  Spending time in thought with your MARLUXIA unit will be productive, as the two of you will come up with a schedule to suit your needs and work toward your goal.

BODYGUARD: MARLUXIA units are skilled warriors despite their appearance.  They will readily round up any LARXENE units and double team against your aggressor.  When alone, your MARLUXIA unit will merely lop off their heads with his flamingo pink scythe, no questions asked.  However, you may prefer to have your MARLUXIA merely intimidate your aggressor if they happen to be a friend or loved one.

PARTY ATTRACTION: MARLUXIA  units are popular among fanboys. The next time you have a party, spread the word that a MARLUXIA  unit will be there and watch the boys raid your refrigerator!

BOY/GIRLFRIEND: Once you unlock your MARLUXIA's unit Emotional mode, you will find that he becomes more mellow, and will readily listen to and obey your instructions.  Occasionally, your dwelling's atmosphere may become more heavily perfumed, and an increase in the amount of vegetation is absolutely normal.

Modes:
Your MARLUXIA  unit is programmed with the following modes:

Conceited (default setting)
Angry
Furious (level two lock)
Overthrow (level two lock)
Content level three lock)
Assassination (level four lock, activation not recommended)
Emotional (level five lock)
Deadly (level ten lock, activation not recommended)

Your MARLUXIA unit defaults into Conceited mode.  While in Conceited mode, your MARLUXIA unit will often ignore you, and focus his attention on his new garden.  You can possibly unlock your MARLUXIA's unit's Content mode if you share his time in gardening, and reduce his chances of entering Angry or Overthrow mode.

Exercise extreme caution when your MARLUXIA unit enters Angry mode.  Even the tiniest mistake may send him into Furious mode, where he comes much more dangerous.  Angry mode is characterized by the presence of his scythe, and general irritation in his behavior for approximately twenty minutes.  However, you can unlock his Content mode by inquiring your unit to the problem, and then guiding him to his garden to calm down.

If your MARLUXIA unit enters Furious mode, it is in your best interest to take refuge in an arboreal environment until your MARLUXIA unit calms down.  Furious mode is much like an intensified Angry mode, with the exception that your MARLUXIA unit will not hesitate to lash out with his weapon should you continue to anger him, as well as the shower of pink blossoms that will hover around him.  You can placate your MARLUXIA unit by submitting to him, or by offering him a pack of floral seeds.

Overthrow mode is a complicated situation to explain.  However, once your MARLUXIA unit enters this mode, after a month, you will find yourself to no longer be lord of the household. The MARLUXIA unit will be less prone to enter Angry and Furious mode, but Emotional mode will be near impossible to unlock.

Content mode will only unlock once you acknowledge your MARLUXIA unit to be your god and savior.  However, you can override this requirement by spending an excessive amount of time with your unit in his garden.  When your MARLUXIA unit enters Content mode, he will be more friendly, and have more positive interactions with all other Organization units with the exception of MANSEX XEMNAS.

Assassination mode will unlock if your MARLUXIA unit enters Overthrow mode and Furious mode in succession.  It is characterized by an intensified pink blossom shower, and the presence of his scythe.  More often than not, he will also say something along the lines of allowing one's mind to be chained in the heart's memories will scatter your soul to the darkness of your heart if you continue to do believe in false memories etc. Afterwards, he will be seen riding a giant Spectre, and will attempt to eliminate all he sees as opposition… which may include you as a potential candidate.  Immediate evacuation is highly recommended.

Once you unlock your MARLUXIA unit's Emotional mode, you will find him to be much more pleasant to be around.  MARLUXIA units are very passionate lovers, and will resort to any means to protect you once you have obtained their favor.

The MARLUXIA unit's Deadly mode is triggered under extreme pressure in the presence of an active SORA unit.  The MARLUXIA unit will teleport anyone in the surrounding vicinity to a bare battlefield-like area, where he will ultimately erase the existence of anything within sight.  He will be surrounded in a large structure reminiscent of the Spectre, however, he will be stationary at its center.  It is possible to escape certain doom by replacing his scythe with another rod-like object at least 5 feet in length, negating the effects of his Oblivion functions while in this state.  (The manual has an order form for 10 plastic replacement scythes for these situations.)

Relationships with other units:
SORA: Do NOT allow your MARLUXIA unit to interact with any SORA units.  Doing so will lead to a high risk of unlocking your MARLUXIA unit's Deadly mode.  SORA units automatically attack any Organization units.

XEMNAS: MARLUXIA units despite XEMNAS units, but do not show their hatred openly.  Allowing these two units to interact will cause your MARLUXIA unit to enter Angry mode afterwards.

XIGBAR: MARLUXIA units do not like XIGBAR units much.  XIGBAR units have the tendency to poke fun at the MARLUXIA unit's appearance, and interaction may result in the XIGBAR unit needing a potion or two.

XALDIN: MARLUXIA units are content with XALDIN units.  Interaction is optional.

VEXEN: VEXEN units are easily frightened by MARLUXIA units.  Your MARLUXIA unit may see fit to eliminate the VEXEN unit if the same units have interacted previously.  Interaction is not recommended.

LEXAEUS: MARLUXIA units are generally uncomfortable with LEXAEUS units.  However, interaction with LEXAEUS units has proven to be very effective in disciplining your MARLUXIA unit.

ZEXION: MARLUXIA units and ZEXION units are at ease with each other.

SAIX: MARLUXIA units are often uneasy in a SAIX unit's presence.  Interaction is not highly recommended.

AXEL: MARLUXIA units absolutely hate AXEL units.  AXEL units are guarantee to put your MARLUXIA unit into Angry mode once they make some obvious observations about the state of the MARLUXIA unit's hair.  Interaction will usually result in a sudden overgrowth of greenery, as well as a high chance of the MARLUXIA unit entering Furious mode afterwards.  Interaction is not recommended.

DEMYX: DEMYX units and MARLUXIA units get along if the DEMYX unit has not yet interacted with a AXEL or XIGBAR unit. However, if the latter is the case, the DEMYX unit may be in danger with a MARLUXIA unit in the vicinity.

LUXORD: LUXORD units will usually try to con MARLUXIA units into gambling with them.  MARLUXIA units can hold their own against LUXORD units.  However, if your MARLUXIA unit has recently entered Angry or Furious mode, they will be more apt to lose their available money.  Interaction should monitored as a precaution.

LARXENE: LARXENE units and MARLUXIA units are quite content with each other's presence.  Interaction will put MARLUXIA in a good mood.

ROXAS: MARLUXIA units are fascinated with ROXAS units.  However, MARLUXIA units will try to convince ROXAS units into surrendering their Keyblades, and may occasionally cause ROXAS units to switch to Angsty/Depressed mode.  Also, MARLUXIA units tend to react similarly to ROXAS units as SORA units.  Interaction should be restricted.

Cleaning:
Your MARLUXIA unit is capable of cleaning himself.  However, he will not turn you down if you offer to help him.  Do NOT remove your clothing while helping him wash.  If you wish to discourage his habit of taking elongated bubble baths, encourage your MARLUXIA unit to use the shower more often.

Feeding and Resting:
MARLUXIA units, or any other Nobody units for that matter, do not require food nor sleep.  They are not picky, but serving them any sort of food with vegetation as a primary ingredient will goad them into Angry mode.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What was that plot of land supposed to do?

A. Have you ever seen your MARLUXIA unit's garden?

Q. My MARLUXIA unit seems to always be in Angry mode.  I hid the scythe just in case, but what can I do?

A. Don't forget to give your MARLUXIA unit his water can.  His happiness can also be affected by the state of his garden.  If that is not the case, keep him away from any other Organization units that may tease him.

Q. Why does my MARLUXIA unit want to give me a bath?

A. Your MARLUXIA unit has most probably entered Overthrow mode.  Insist that you can take care of your own hygiene, and refer to the Modes section of the Manual.

Q. I think my MARLUXIA unit likes my VEXEN unit. Is this a glitch?

A. It is a rare glitch with the MARLUXIA unit's programming.  Your MARLUXIA unit will be less likely to enter Assassin or Deadly mode while it is infatuated with your VEXEN unit.  You may request a replacement MARLUXIA unit if this glitch is inconvenient.

Q. I ordered a MARLUXIA unit, but I got one with pink hair! What's wrong with her?

A. MARLUXIA units are male, and by default have pink hair.  You can ask your MARLUXIA unit to dye his hair, though be prepared to come home to a lime-green or neon-blue hue.

:noes: Minor, minor game spoilers here, and it's a tad more serious than that Axel business.

The Xigbar/Demyx/Zexion Manuals weren't written by me. :noes:

For the handful of people who sent me notes, no, you can't actually order these guys..... The closest you can get are the little keychains you see at cons, or the official figurines that Squeenix or so produces. Sad-facccceeeeeee.
